Blurb:

Secrets from the past.

Voices from the grave.

Because nothing stays buried forever…

Cypress Bend, Florida, is a small southern bayou town filled with long-buried secrets. It’s also the home of successful, fiercely independent state prosecutor Grace Courtemanche who’s pulled into a world of terror and self-doubt when she receives a phone call from a young woman buried alive. In a race to stop a revenge-seeking killer, Grace unearths skeletons from her past along with feelings for the one man she swore she’d never need again, Hatch Hatcher, a rootless, smooth-talking FBI crisis negotiator who’s back in Cypress Bend to deal with a secret of his own.

My Review:

This is the second book in the Apostles series and it was just as fascinating and attention grabbing as the first!  A note:  you do not have to read the first book to fully appreciate and understand this one but I do recommend it to lovers of suspenseful romance to start with The Broken!  Grace is a state prosecutor who receive a phone call from a woman buried alive and she is in a race to save her life.  To help in her search for the monster who did this, Hatch, an FBI negotiator, who is back in town to deal with a surprise issue of is own, joins in the manhunt.  This was a well written roller coaster ride that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.  Grace is a strong and compassionate woman who is drawn into a sick game and put her whole heart into helping this monster's victims.  Hatch is a man who has some major commitment issues and working with Grace while dealing with his own secret has him re-evaluating his life.  This story has a wonderful blend of suspense, mystery, drama, humor and romance that kept me eagerly turning pages.  I was drawn into this entertaining story and am now impatiently looking forward to the next book in this series! ~Booklover Sue
