Release Blitz - Grayson by Lisa Eugene

All she needed was a job…

The last thing twenty-four year old grad student Angie Roberts needs is to worry about her new boss’s father. After all, she’s never even seen him. He remains sequestered upstairs in a house that looks like it should be the main feature in an episode of Hoarders. She had no idea the house was such a dump when she took the job. But she’s concerned about the safety and health of the old man living under such horrid conditions.

What she got was a mystery…

Despite warnings not to venture upstairs, she wanders up to the second floor. What she sees is shocking. The man she finds is a gorgeous, sexy, middle-aged man-- and he's stepping out of the shower. But something is definitely not right. Why would this wealthy, handsome man live in a house in such disrepair while his nine-teen year old son resides in a lavish penthouse? Why does he hide away from society? Why does he come to her rescue and then run away?

What she discovered was heartbreaking…

Angie learns that forty-four year old Grayson Whitmore suffers from schizophrenia. Paranoid, he retreats into his own world.

What she ended up with was a treasure…

Angie is determined to get through to him. They form a friendship that blazes into an inconceivable love fired with erotic passion. Angie must now come to Grayson’s rescue because the wicked that has been perpetrated on him is unconscionable. First, though, she must gain the trust of a man whose mind does not allow for such a thing.

I watched Grayson discard the condom into one of the garbage bags. I pouted, staring at him. “You know, I’m still mad at you.”
I didn’t want him to think he’d gotten away with putting me through a week of hell, of not knowing if he was truly okay.
“Still mad?” He swung his gaze to me, incredulous. Laughter danced in his blue eyes. “After what just happened between us?”
I rolled my eyes. Leave it to a man to think that good—great—okay, freaking fantastic sex, would fix everything.
He regarded me with a lopsided grin and said, “Yeah, I could really feel your anger as you were screaming for me to pound you harder.”
My jaw dropped in shock. I couldn't believe he’d just said that. This man was outrageous! My eyes rounded and I gave him a playful punch on his chest.
“I did not!”
“Let’s see...” He screwed up his face, grinning. “I guess when you said, ‘Fuck me, Grayson,’ you really meant, ‘Oh, Grayson, I’m so mad at you!’”
I kept hitting him as he laughed and raised his palms in his defense. What made it worse was that he mimicked me in a high-pitched girly voice, which sent me into unwanted hysterics.
He continued, “Or, when you said, ‘Harder, Grayson, harder!’ you really meant, ‘I’m really pissed right now.’”
“You are the most frustrating man I’ve ever known!” I declared with a huff, pushing him backwards into the upholstered chair.
He was a big man and he no doubt allowed me to topple him, but I was surprised when he grabbed my waist and pulled me down onto his lap.

Lisa Eugene began writing as a way to mentally escape from the hectic medical world where she has been a practicing nurse for over twenty years. After publishing her first novel, STRICTLY BUSINESS, she quickly learned that readers couldn't get enough of the world she created and now she lives out her wildest fantasies by writing steamy romantic suspense for her fan-favorite Washington Memorial Hospital series.
When she's not plotting her next dangerous, fast-paced, sexy adventure, you can find her juggling a full time job, playing soccer mom, or curled up reading a good romance.

Spotlight & Giveaway - Prima Donna by Laura Drewry

Prima Donna

By: Laura Drewry

Releasing September 23rd, 2014

Loveswept

Blurb:

In USA Today bestselling author Laura Drewry’s witty, sizzling, and tender romance for readers of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery, a woman who can’t slow down discovers that the perfect guy is in hot pursuit.

Even when her hair salon goes under and she’s on the brink of breaking, Regan Burke keeps her “I’m just fine” attitude. She’s had a tough life, coping with a difficult family and keeping her act together . . . barely. Right now, she just needs a job, any job, so she can pay her mother’s medical bills. It’s the exact wrong time for Carter Scott to come into her life—and to be so damn sexy, so distracting, and so determined to get close.

Carter isn’t looking for anything serious—his heart belongs to the kids who depend on his pediatric practice—but something about Regan makes him reconsider. Maybe it’s the scars she hides so well, the secrets she can’t share. Carter knows all about that kind of pain, and he wants to help. But offering Regan a job in his office only makes things worse, even if their chemistry is off the charts. Lucky for them both, Carter isn’t about to let go of love without a fight.

EXCERPT:

“Well, that’s good then.” Carter bobbed his head in a slow nod as he sipped his beer.
“Why’s that good?” Katie slid her nacho plate to the left a little as Ben tucked his phone away and took the chair beside her.
Carter fixed his gaze on Regan as his grin grew wider, sexier. “Because I’d hate to get my ass kicked by Linebacker Leon when I kiss Red here at midnight.”
Katie choked on her chip, but Regan just shook her head and laughed.
“What makes you think I’m going to let you kiss me?”
He nipped the last mozzarella stick from her plate, bit off a chunk, then chased it with a long swig of his beer. “Because it’s New Year’s Eve, we’re both here alone, and going by the last guy I saw you with, I’m bettin’ it’s been a while since you were good and kissed.”
“Carter!” Katie’s scolding might have been more threatening if she hadn’t still been choking behind her napkin.
The thing was, Carter might be obnoxious, and he might be cocky as hell, but he wasn’t wrong, and even as Regan laughed, Maya’s voice echoed in her brain. If anyone deserves a little distraction, it’s you.
After a while, she wiped her mouth on a napkin and lifted her right shoulder. “Even if that were true—and I’m not saying it is—what makes you think you’re the man for the job?”
“You shittin’ me?” The half smile was back. “After what happened down at your shop?”
Katie’s hand froze halfway to her mouth, letting a couple of olives tumble from the chip. “What happened?”
“She couldn’t keep her hands off me.”
“I what?” Regan choked. “I cut your hair, Carter; it involves a little touching.”
“Not like that.” He winked at Katie and grinned cheekily. “And you should’ve seen her over there getting some food a minute ago. She tried to kill Maya just so we could be alone.”
“Oh my God,” Regan laughed. “In your dreams maybe.”
“No maybe about it.” He thumbed to the spot where they’d been standing when he touched her hair. “And what about over there? You telling me you react like that every time some guy talks to you?”
His grin was too cocky, too confident. Too right.
Damn it. Pulling her plate out of Carter’s reach, Regan tried to give him a look of utter indifference, but her mouth kept twitching against a smile. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Ohmygod.” Katie let her chip fall to the table. “What happened?”
“Nothing. Regan tipped a warning look at Carter, who simply shrugged and stared straight back at her.
“Me and you, Red.” He took another sip of his beer, his dark eyes never leaving hers. “Midnight.”

Excerpt

“She’s just being nice,” Kayden says gazing down at me. His hair is ruffled and his jawline is scruffy and he looks so happy. “And it’s nice… that she wants to be so nice... it could be worse than an overnice mother.”

“Yeah, I know.” I sigh, knowing he’s right, that it could be worse, that I could have a mother like his mother. “I just wish she’d be just a little bit less embarrassing.” I raise my hand and make a pinching gesture with my fingers. “Maybe just a teeny tiny bit.”

“Yeah, I doubt that’s ever going to happen.” Kayden slips his shirt off and chucks it aside. His jeans ride low on his hips, giving me a view of his abs and chest that is crisscrossed with scars. “I did find it funny when she kept cracking jokes all through dinner about how she thinks we’re going to end up getting married.” He kneels down on the mattress, nudging my knees open with his knees until I spread open my legs for him.

“Oh God.” Shaking my head, I cover my face with my hands. “I’m glad you find it funny because I’m sure most guys would be running for their lives.”

The mattresses moves as he leans over me and puts a hand on each side of my head. I crack my fingers apart and look at him. He’s been so much happier since he put the past behind him. He seems to breathe freer, smile more, and it’s probably the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen. “Well, just make sure you really want this,” I say as he moves one of my hands away from my eyes.  “Because you still have time to run.”

He shakes his head, his tongue slipping out of his mouth to wet his lips. “No running here,” he whispers in a raspy voice that I know only means one thing—he wants me. “Ever.” He moves my other hand away from my face then pins my arms above my head.

A while ago, the movement would have sent my heart soaring and not in a good way. But now… well, it freaking soars like a bird high up in the sky never wanting to return to land ever. It soars because it’s free. It soars for him.

“You want me,” I tease as he leans down to kiss me.

“You’re right,” he says. “And then I want to give you your present.”

“But you already gave me my present.” I pat my pocket where the tickets to the concert are that he gave me. He said it was for a redo of a night that should have been special, but he couldn’t give it to me then, but he was ready now to give me everything I deserve—his words not mine. My mom practically fainted when he said it. And me, well I think I fell in love with Kayden even more.

“Yeah, but that one was only the first part.” He kisses me, then softly bites my bottom lip before he leans back for air. “There’s more,” he breathes against my lips, coming in for another kiss. “But you have to wait.”

“Until when?” I wonder, my heart skipping a beat as his hands wander for the button of my jeans.

“Until we’re done with this.” He gives me a wicked smile as he flicks my button undone.
