Super Book Blast & Giveaway - Dark Wolf Enterprises by A.M. Griffin

Dark Wolf Enterprises

by A.M. Griffin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
The big break Trudy Hollander’s small accounting firm needs has finally arrived, but unfortunately it comes with murder, mayhem and Kristof Farkas, a man she just can’t seem to resist. Even worse, Kristof is the CFO of Dark Wolf Enterprises—the one person who can pull the plug on the job that will take her company to the next level.
And then there are the assassins who can jump from three stories up and still be able to run away…
Kristof has no intention of giving in to his inner wolf and claiming Trudy. She’s human. Too fragile to withstand being a shifter’s mate. But the need to protect her is stronger than his resolve, and his desire is more powerful yet. He’ll fight with everything he has to keep her safe, both from those who would hurt her, and from himself.
Trudy groaned. She had kneed her client, and very well the sexiest man she’d ever seen, in the nuts. She pretty much assumed getting fired was a done deal now.
He was the kind of man that women dreamed about. Tall, dark and handsome—literally, he was the epitome of it. He looked to be in his early thirties and too young to run a large company. He stood over six feet tall and had a muscular frame. His dark hair was cut short, not a strand seemed out of place. His eyes were dark brown and unsettled her as he watched her. His clothes looked expensive, from his shirt to his shoes and even the wool coat that he wore. If she was the swooning type, she would be on the ground.
The man standing next to him was just as handsome as Kristof was. He was dark and tall like Kristof but he didn’t have the same muscular build. He had lean muscles like a runner, while even with them hidden underneath his clothes Kristof looked to be all muscle. The two men shared so many similarities Trudy was sure they had to be related.
The officers had everyone wait outside while they did a sweep of her house. She stood in uncomfortable silence with Kristof and Lajos. Now was not a good time to ask them why they traveled all the way to her house. She needed to put some time between her assault on him and begging to keep the contract.
She tried to keep her eyes focused on anything except for Kristof but, no matter how much she tried, she kept peering at him from her peripheral vision. She swore he was doing the same and watching her as well. What she really wanted to do was touch him.
Do it. Touch him.
She took a step in his direction before she caught herself.
What am I doing? I can’t go around fondling my clients.
She didn’t know why, but she had these urges to go to him, stand next to him, caress his body and make love to him.
Shit. Get a grip girl.
It’d been a little while since she got laid, but this was going way beyond horny. It wasn’t even the sex part that pulled at her. It went way beyond that. It was as if she was supposed to trust him…with her life.
She needed to touch him. There was a sense of urgency to it. She maneuvered Piper to one arm and stuck out her hand. “Trudy Hollander.”
Kristof took her hand in his and there was an instant—something. Trudy couldn’t even describe how she felt, because she’d never felt anything like this before. Her hand and his felt connected, as if they were one. He looked down at her and his eyes changed color again. Something behind them flashed with sexual heat and longing.
“Kristof Farkas.”
Blurb:
Perfect for fans of Mary Balogh, Sharon Cullen’s captivating novel tells the deeply emotional tale of two devoted lovers facing the ravages of war.
For months now, Lady Grace Ashworth has mourned the death of her beloved husband—until the day a very-much-alive Michael arrives at her front door. It’s nothing less than a miracle. However, Grace soon realizes that this Michael isn’t the same man who left for the Crimean War. She’s stunned to learn that he has suffered a devastating head injury. Putting all her own desires aside, Grace resolves to devote herself to Michael’s recovery and to love him no matter what troubles may come.
Convinced that his wife is wasting her time on a broken man, Michael attempts to shield Grace from a life of inconvenience by driving her away. But Grace will have none of that. Despite every obstacle Michael throws in her path, she stubbornly soldiers on, fighting not only for their marriage but for the love they once shared. In the end, will her determination alone be enough to save Michael from the darkness that threatens to consume him?
Excerpt:
(from Chapter 1)
“Timmons will make an excellent husband and will see to all of your needs,” Nigel said. “His status as a new baron is quite proper, as well as his annual income from his investments.”
Grace could care less about Timmons’s income. What bothered her was that she was being pushed off on a man for whom she held no feelings other than mild friendship. And that she would spend the rest of her life living with one man while mourning another.
“It’s a disgrace, I say.” Ida Fisher, Grace’s lady’s maid, cook, housekeeper, and companion all rolled into one, followed Grace around the sitting room of the dower house, her anger taking up all the air. Grace couldn’t blame Ida; she was just as furious. But really, she wished Ida would stop her indignation for just a moment so Grace could think in peace.
“There’s nothing to be done, then?” Ida asked. “Nothing?”
“I don’t believe so. Nigel has everything tied up in a neat bow, right down to the reading of the banns and the date of the wedding.”
Ida harrumphed. “I don’t like this. You have no family to turn to, and he knows that.”
Grace didn’t like it, either. Ida was right. Grace had no family to turn to, since both her parents had died in an influenza epidemic four years ago. She’d had only Michael for family.
“Seems the least he could do was let a lady decide her own wedding date,” Ida said.
Yes, it seemed.
“So what are you to do?” Ida picked up an antimacassar from the back of a chair to twist the lace.
Grace gently took the mutilated lace and smoothed it back into place on the chair. “What am I going to do? I’m going to attend the festival committee meeting, like I had been planning, that’s what I’m going to do.”
“But my lady, how can you even think of festivals at a time like this?”
“Because, Ida, I can’t think of Nigel or marriage or anything else right now.” Because going to the festival planning committee was the most she could do at the moment without falling apart. And she knew if she stayed within these walls and thought about what had happened up at the manor house, she would fall apart.
So she gathered her parasol, adjusted her hat in the mirror, and set off for Prudence Davison’s home. Prudence was the chair of the festival committee and the wife of the local solicitor, a very nice woman who managed to pull together the festival every year with her long lists and her ability to corral everyone together and browbeat those who tended toward laziness. No one dared to take her place; neither did anyone want the position of committee chair; so everyone deferred to Prudence and was happy to do so.
Grace had her driver and all-around handyman, George—also known as Ida’s husband—drop her off a few blocks from Mrs. Davison’s home, situated just off the main street. Grace enjoyed the exercise and nodded to the people she knew as she passed them. Hadley Springs wasn’t London, and that had been just fine with her and Michael. William, Michael’s older brother and the earl at the time, had allowed them the use of Blackbourne Manor because he preferred the excitement of London, while Grace and Michael were much more suited to country living. The arrangement had been simple and convenient for all parties involved. When he’d been home from his duties as an officer in the First Royal Dragoons, Michael would see to the vast expanse of lands and the income Blackbourne Manor generated, and William would see to all the other estates and investments.
The memories of Michael were sharp today and her grief fresh. Some days she missed Michael so much it took everything she had to get through the day. There were still moments when she made mental notes of things to tell him before she remembered that he would never walk through the front door again or laugh at a funny story she’d told.
The guards moved among us, placing dentist-office Dixie cups of what looked like water in front of everyone. A separate guard came to where I sat on the floor, clutching my knees. She lightly took my arm.
“Please return to the table.” Her voice was smooth. “You’ve had a shock. Have some water.”
I wasn’t about to drink anything they gave us. It was Day One all over again, only this time, it was Guyana. We were all being served the Kool-Aid. Next stop, mass graves.
Stupidly, my friends and fellow prisoners had no such qualms. Didn’t anybody watch the History channel? I stared as they all took shaky sips without hesitation.
“Just take a small sip.” The female guard was still with me. “It’ll calm you.”
My throat constricted. My whole body was on revolt. Shaking my head, I didn’t meet her eyes. I only stared at the white cup of water. Braxton was at my side, and he drained his. What the hell made him do that? Did he want to die?
Seconds ticked past and nothing happened. Nobody passed out. Nobody did anything strange—except forget what we’d just witnessed here. Braxton picked up his fork to finish his lunch. They all did. Like one of us had not just been taken out “swiftly and finally.”
Only he had, and I was reeling from the shock.
Book Blast & Giveaway - Game On! (Never to Love & Never to Part) by Tara C. MacDonals
This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Tara will be awarding a print of local art by artist Wendy Beaver of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour (North American addresses only). Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.
Game On! Never to Part and Never to Love is an ebook with two short stories. Never to Part features Ryan almost getting run over by Sam at a bar one night. They see each other again as Ryan's hockey team is hiring her marketing firm in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. What can these two confused overachievers do when love strikes. Never to Love brings us to Halifax again where James and Sarah bump heads in a business deal to help out his motocross sponsorship prospects. Will they be able to put business aside and commit to their passions?
Enjoy an excerpt from Never to Part:
As Sam left the bar and got into her Mini Cooper she looked at the snow gently falling down and wished, for the first time in her life, that she had been out of Nova Scotia. At least once. Then she sighed. I do love it here, and where else would I go? Gord could find his own way home. As the tears fell down her face she finally knew whatever they had had together was gone. Maybe she’d only seen what she had wanted to see.
Sam heard a thump and slammed on the brakes. She threw herself out of the car to see what she had hit. Oh, God, she thought, was it an animal?
“Why don’t you watch where you’re going?” came an American drawl. Her feet slid in some snow getting to the front of her car.
She looked up at a six-foot-four man wearing a ball cap that said Drakes and had the team logo on the side. He flexed his leg and glared at her.
“I’m so sorry! Are you hurt? Should we call nine-one-one? I can do that!” Sam grabbed her phone out of her pocket and waved it around.
“No! Lady, you weren’t even doing five miles an hour when you hit me. I’m okay. Call off the emergency first aid.”
She ran over to him and put her arm around him to give support.
“Lady, I’m fine. You don’t need to…”
“Just let me help,” she said and looked up into the warmest chocolate brown eyes she had ever seen. Her next thought died on her lips as she took in his deep forest scent. Her hand was grabbing nothing but hard muscle where she touched him. Her heart beat erratically as his lips curved into a smile.
Spotlight & Giveaway - Addict (The Cravings Series, Book 1) by Rachael Orman
Addict
(Cravings Series #1)
Author: Rachael Orman
Genre: Erotic Romance/BDSM
Publication Date: December 22, 2014
My name is Alix and I am addicted to sex.
Had been for years. I thought I learned how to live a normal life, but that’s the thing about addiction, it creeps back up when you least expect it. There is no one there for me, no one I can turn to for help. Until I’m given a chance to explore a side of myself I’d always kept locked away. I was lost…until him. I can’t tell you who he is, or why he does the things he’s done. All I can say is I hope one day I behave well enough to take off the blindfold and see the man who controls my addiction. My Master.
My name is John and I am addicted to control.
I tried to deny the dominate side of my personality. I didn’t want to admit how much I enjoyed the power, how much I enjoyed causing pain. That is until the woman I’d been secretly been stalking waltzed into a BDSM club right in front of me. All bets are off. She will be mine.
Together our addictions feed off each other, fueling the fire that burns within. Until suddenly the fire is too hot to handle, burning everything in its path. The pain and scars we’d both come into our fragile relationship with are split wide open, exposing more than either of us can handle, possibly leaving nothing behind to salvage from the ashes.
**Warning: Intended for audiences 18+ due to explicit sex & vulgar language, mention of rape/abuse**
Mother by day. Writer by night. I spend a majority of my day with my children and reading while my nights are filled with the sound of the keyboard as I work on my next work.
I have written in F/F, F/F/M, F/F/F and then of course F/M genres.... So, beware, I do not always have the most 'traditional' scenes. And one day I will venture into M/M, just have to find the time.
I love to try new things and learn from every piece of work I write. I'll write just about anything once to learn from it. I've even ventured out of my normal erotica genre into Monster Erotica. Doubt you'll find me writing anything not erotic as you can barely get me to even read something out of that category, but then again, you never know what I might try next.
Never stop learning. Try everything at least once.
An awesome romance featuring a hero with a big set of antlers.
No way was he wearing damned tinsel in his antlers.
Like hell was he sporting a red nose and pulling a sleigh.
But he changes his mind when he meets the woman in charge of the event.
Single mom, Crystal, is doing her best to offer her daughter the best Christmas ever. It’s their first in Kodiak Point, and she’s not about to let some vain jerk ruin it for her little girl. If playing dirty is what it takes…then bring on the Christmas games.
As Crystal and Kyle butt heads—and lips—they discover more than goodwill this holiday season. They’re gifted with a second chance at love.
Excerpt:
Mission #743: Have Gigi repeat laughter as often as possible.
Given his newest mission, he had an excuse as to why he was lugging a giant panda bear when he came across Crystal, trying to disentangle herself from the vise-like grip of some guy. Say it like it is, a dead fucking asshole if he doesn’t get his hands off my woman.
He glared. It had no effect. Then again, nothing screamed I’m-a-tough-guy-who-is-going-to-kick-your-ass-if-you-don’t-step-away-from-the-cougar than a big, fluffy stuffed animal. No wonder the guy laughed when Kyle growled, “Be a smart doggy and walk away from the woman.” Mine.
“Is a guy with a giant teddy bear really trying to threaten me?” Said with utmost disdain and totally unacceptable.
Shaking with fear, Gigi huddled beside the panda Kyle set down. She raised big eyes his way, and he didn’t need her softly lisped, “That’s Malcolm,” to guess the jerk’s identity.
Early Christmas present for me. I knew I was a good boy this year. “Threat? I didn’t hear a threat. I heard a promise. And this is your last warning. Remove your hands from Crystal or else.”
“Or else what, tough guy?”
About to show him what, Kyle had to force his arm to stay at his side as Crystal shook Malcolm’s hand free and stepped between them.
A pair of pleading eyes met his. “Kyle, would you please take my daughter and go somewhere while I deal with this?”
As if he’d walk away.
This man is a threat.
Not just to Crystal but to his overall missions in regards to Gigi and Crystal. He’d made promises, and he intended to keep them, not to mention his new knightly reputation required upkeep. Yes, he’d admit, just not aloud, that the idea of being someone’s hero appealed. I would totally rock a leather hero outfit.
“I’m not leaving,” he stated, but he did need Crystal out of the way. Since he doubted she’d move her sweet ass to give him a direct line of sight, he did the most expedient thing. He snaked an arm around her waist and gave a contented grumble when she squealed very feminine-like, and he inwardly exulted at the fact he’d touched her. As suspected, she felt just right.
He set her to his side where she clamped her lips and eyed him with a touch of ire. Gigi threw her arms around her mother, her fright obvious. Crystal ducked down to gather Gigi against her.
My little sweetie scared? No way. Not happening. He’d initially planned to tell Crystal to take Gigi somewhere else while he spoke to Malcolm. That changed at her shaking little frame. Someone needed to see that her knight wouldn’t let the mean dragon threaten her anymore.
Kyle dropped his gaze to meet the little girl’s and asked, “Nose, gut, or jaw?”
Startled, it took Gigi a moment to reply softly. “Nose.”
“Nice choice,” he replied.
He spun and jabbed so quickly the moron didn’t have time to react. Which really was surprising given his wolf genes, which Kyle smelled as soon as he got close.
Pretty packaging with nothing to back it up. As cartilage crunched under his blow, the idiot who should have listened reeled with a holler. Most men at this point would have probably come to the conclusion they were possibly in trouble and that perhaps the smart thing would involve walking away. Or, in this case, running.
Lucky for Kyle, Malcolm the idiot—who had obviously been dropped way more times on his head than anyone Kyle had ever met—still didn’t get it. “You fucking asshole! I’ll teach you to fucking hit me.”
Did the man not realize there were ladies around? “Watch your language,” Kyle admonished. “There’s women and children around here.” The irony of it almost made him chuckle, but he did smile as the idiot gave him the perfect excuse to act—as if Kyle really needed one. The fact the wolf even breathed the same air offended him.
“Fuck—”
Whatever else Malcolm meant to say got lost as Kyle stepped into Malcolm’s personal space and kneed him in the stomach. Air whooshed out of the man and bent him double.
Kyle wasn’t done, however. He grabbed the man by the hair and walked him away from the girls. While he wouldn’t cuss in front of the ladies, there were times when a man needed strong language, times like now. “Listen here, you bloody miserable excuse for a fucking shifter. I’m only going to say this once. Stay away from Crystal and Gigi. If you even so much as think of coming near her, or calling her, or, hell, if you even think of her, I’m going to hunt your mangy ass down and kill you.” And enjoy it. It seemed where his ladies were concerned he possessed a bit of a protective streak.
“You wouldn’t fucking dare. The law—”
“Can kiss my hairy caribou ass. I know how to make a man disappear and cover my tracks, so trust me when I say, if I want you dead, I’ll kill you, and there isn’t a fucking law agency in this world that will ever charge me for it. Do you understand me?” Kyle told the idiot this as clearly as he could. Really, he was being super nice, so nice his buddies would have mocked him. But…
Malcolm yelled, loud enough for a little girl to hear, “Fuck—”
Jab to the already broken nose. Another to split a lip. A few more just because it was fun, and then he tossed Malcolm to the ground.
Kyle sighed as he stared at the groaning heap on the ground. “What did I tell you about the profanity? Some people never learn. Remember what I said. Because, next time, I won’t be so nice.” Look at him, giving this douchebag the Christmas present of being able to crawl away instead of requiring a stretcher.
Kyle turned his back and strode away, not bothering to look around to see if anyone had witnessed the incident.
Would someone call the cops? Maybe, but more likely they’d chalk it up to what it was, a personal matter that needed resolving. Up here in the still-in-some-ways-untamed North, things weren’t always done by the letter of the law. Sometimes things were handled a little more directly, a little more violently. It was the shifter way.
At least for those with the balls—or rack—to do it.
Seeing him approach, Gigi squirmed in her mother’s embrace until Crystal put her down. The little girl flew at him, arms spread, and he scooped her into his grip. Already, her weight settled on his hip with an odd familiarity.
She tucked her head just under his chin and whispered, “You did it.”
“I did. I slayed the wolf.”
My Review:
This was another fantastic book by Eve Langlais!  Kyle is such an alpha man who has his heart melted by a little girl and her mother.  Crystal and her daughter, Gigi, move to a small town in the middle of nowhere to escape from Malcolm.  Crystal wants her daughter to have the best Christmas ever and that means asking Kyle, a caribou, to pretend to be Rudolf the red nose reindeer in the Christmas Parade.  Kyle is offended but very attracted to Crystal, who wants nothing to do with the vain man who refuses to get into the holiday spirit.  This wonderful story has a blend of humor, romance and bit of suspense that had me eagerly turning the pages of this book.  I highly recommend this wonderful holiday story to lovers of romances with a dash of humor and a pinch of spice! ~Booklover Sue
IMG_8743
Freya Barker has always been creative. Involved in music and dance when she was younger, she followed it up with cake design, quilting, and has most recently added cover design, the Dutch-born Canadian mother of two now has found her voice - writing.
Freya Barker is the pen name for a well-respected reviewer/blogger, who has a strong following on her blog, Facebook and Goodreads. As an avid reader, the next step to pen a book of her own seemed natural.
Driven to make her story about 'real' people, Freya writes about people who are perhaps less than perfect, but just as deserving of romance, hot monkey sex and some thrills and chills in their lives!
