What
would you do to improve your life?
Twenty-one-year-old
Serena Thomas is faced with a tough decision. Unable to get ahead of debt and
loneliness since her grandmother’s death she finds a new job, placing the
sheltered virgin in an underground escort business. She tells herself it’s just
a temporary life choice, but destiny has a different plan. She meets a
mysterious and gorgeous man, who happens to be her new boss. Will Serena fit in
or will she be left all alone again?
Lincoln
(aka: Linc) Jefferson has an unusual life. He established The Lounge, an
exclusive escort club for very personal reasons. A place where the women say
who, when, and what type of sex they’re willing to have. The escorts possess
all the power and the money. It’s a business Linc guards at all costs. Trying
to maintain the secrecy is a constant challenge and one that’s tested when he
enters into a relationship with Serena. She tempts him unlike any woman, even
though he’s surrounded by beauty on a daily basis. The more time they spend
together the harder it is for him to keep his secrets. Will Serena stand by his
side or will she abandon him?
Sparks
and passion fly, taking these two on a journey neither could have expected.
Excerpt:
As soon as
I sat down, my hands coasted across the soft leather. Just like I’d imagined a
cloud would feel. When I looked up, Linc stood in the same place. The blackness
of his suit reminded me of a panther’s coat, and the man—observing his meal.
He crossed
the room and sat next to me, the cushion sinking with his weight and tilting me
closer to him. His left leg lined with mine, thigh to heel. He extended an arm
along the top of the couch and laid his fingertips along the crease of my neck,
brushing them up and down.
Millions of
tingles raced over my spine.
His other
warm hand took possession of my upper thigh, and he skimmed his thumb back and
forth across my clenched legs, creeping upward.
As my dress
moved higher and into no man’s land, I gripped his wrist and squeezed hard. His
fingers stilled at the edge of my panties, making me clench, and the movement
on my neck ceased mid-stroke.
“W-what are
you doing?”

What is your writing environment?
I write lounging on the couch with a laptop. Most of the
time I have either the TV on or music playing. Sometimes, I need total quiet,
particularly during a challenging scene or when I might be stuck on wording,
phrases, etc.
Who is your perfect hero/heroine? Why?
Heroine: I like strong female characters. I read a lot, so I
generally choose novels with heroines that exhibit that characteristic. I like that
type of heroine because I’m one myself. I can’t stand wishy-washy,
cookie-cutter characters. Independent and capable sums up my heroine
preferences best.
Hero: I really love alpha males and men in uniform (any
type: military, police officers, firefighters, etc.). I like tough and gruff
males with a good heart on the inside. A man who knows how to treat a woman
with kindness and give as good as he gets.
Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why?
I’ve recently read two new releases from authors I have not
read before. K.L. Grayson’s Where We
Belong and Adriana Locke’s The
Exception.
What type of book have you always wanted to write?
Believe it or not, children’s books. I was an elementary teacher
and I always thought that’s what I’d write. I actually did write one about
bullying (picture book) but never published it.
Top 3 things on your bucket list:
I actually have a few but I call it my “Live Life List.” J
1.
Travel throughout the US in an RV or just
driving around in a car to various towns.
2.
Travel internationally. My first preference is
Australia.
3.
I’d love to spend the entire summer near the
beach in a cottage writing. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my time.
How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
I was hoping I would be asked this question. I actually wrote
an article about this exact topic. It’s titled Take Your Time but Hurry Up! A Newbie Author Selfie published on
the Savvy Authors’ website. I got the idea for Intensity while I was driving to
work one day. It was a fantasy that came to mind and would not leave me alone until
I sat down and typed it.
What is your favorite scene in your newest release?
I would have to say it is the day that Serena meets Linc. In
just about every romance novel I’ve read, I’m a sucker for that first
impression and connection. In fact, in “real” life, I often ask couples how
they’ve met. That topic is absolutely fascinating to me.
What is the last movie you watched and loved?
I wouldn’t say I loved it, but I did enjoy it. Recently I
watched Snow White & the Huntsman.
What would you consider a “perfect date”?
When I read this question I laughed out loud. I have NEVER
been on a date I would consider perfect, but if I had a choice, it would be
something out of the ordinary. I think it’s too easy to take a date to dinner
or see a movie, so I’d like a guy to be creative and plan something out of the
box. I don’t have a preference really, I’d just like him to think about making
the date special and do something different.
What are you currently working on?
I’m writing the sequel to Intensity. SERENITY is scheduled
for release in 2015.
