HEAT: Club Inferno
Loveswept Contemporary Romance
Written by Jamie K. Schmidt
Releasing, June 3, 2014
Blurb:
Style and seduction collide in Jamie
K. Schmidt’s Heat—sure to please fans of Fifty Shades of Grey—as the world’s
best-dressed men and women shed their clothing . . . and their inhibitions.
On the run
from her abusive fiancé, ER doctor Mallory Bryant arrives at her sister’s
Connecticut resort desperate for a place to restore balance to her life. But
Club Inferno is more than a haven for the rich and fashionable. Beneath its
elegant facade is an erotic playground where dominants and submissives play out
their fantasies. At first, Mallory is wary of Max Spencer, the martial arts
trainer acting as her bodyguard—until he introduces her to passion so intense
she wants nothing more than to surrender to his touch.
As one of
Couture’s most skilled doms, Max enjoys taking Mallory to the limits of
pleasure. It’s a dangerous proposition, and as their sensual games draw them
into a relationship beyond the boundaries of pupil and master, Max starts
spiraling out of control. But when Mallory’s violent past catches up with her,
Max knows what he must do: draw her closer than ever before, even if it means
risking a surrender of his own.

What is your writing
environment?
I have a desk in the corner of my bedroom. I’m usually joined by my big, fluffy, white
cat and my little, chuiweenie dog at my feet.
I’ve got a corkboard with inspirational stuff pinned on it and some ASII
character maps that I can never remember.
“EM” dash is alt 0151.
Who is your perfect
hero/heroine? Why?
My grandparents. They
met when my grandmother’s brother skated her out to the middle of a pond and
then left her there. She didn’t know how
to skate. My grandfather rescued
her. I asked her if it was love at first
sight and she said, “No, he was a big show off.” My grandfather said she was the “Prettiest
girl he’d ever seen. Clumsy. But Pretty.”
Gradually, he apparently grew on her because they got married. My
grandmother told me about their vacations together. They would go up to Cape Cod with my
grandmother’s sister and husband. The
men would fish all day. The women would
clean the fish. And they used the car as
their hotel. My grandfather and great
uncle would make raviolis on my grandparents bed. They would spread a clean, white sheet out,
dust it with flour and fix the dough into pockets and stuff them with meat and
cheese. This has to be true love—what
woman would put up with that? Anyway,
they suffered through hard financial times, had three children, and lived a
long and happy life together.
Which authors have
caught your interest lately? Why?
I’m a big fan of Stacey Kennedy’s Club Sin series. It’s very hot and steamy. I also like Tina Wainscott’s Justiss Alliance
series. I love all those bad boys.
What type of book
have you always wanted to write?
I always wanted to write a “Choose Your Own Adventure”
book. I grew up with them as a
child. Basically, you read a section and
depending on your choices, you’re directed to different pages in the book to
see how your adventure plays out. You
can always go back and choose a different path. I used to love the science
fiction and fantasy ones. I always wound
up a vampire’s dinner.
Top 3 things on your
bucket list:
1.
Sleep in a hut in Tahiti or Bali.
2.
Be a New
York Times bestselling author.
3.
Walk in a pair of Manolo Bhlanik heels.
How did you get the
idea for this particular novel?
My agent Louise Fury and my editor Sue Grimshaw were
discussing a series about a secret sex society and we brainstormed a little and
HEAT came about from that. LONGING is
book two. it’s going to be Anya and Clint’s story.
What is your favorite scene in your newest release?
I liked the scene in the stairwell with Mallory when Max
comes back from visiting his father.
What is the last
movie you watched and loved?
Captain America, the Winter Soldier. Yes, please.
I love the Avengers and all the deep, character histories. I can’t wait for Age of Ultron.
What would you
consider a “perfect date”?
A weekend in Manhattan.
What are you
currently working on?
I’m currently working on the next two books in the Club
Inferno series: FEVER, Colleen and Chase’s story, and PASSION Istvahn and
Nefertiti’s love story.
