Movie - Parental Guidance

I checked out Parental Guidance to determine if it would be appropriate for a family movie night and was surprisingly shocked at how enjoyable and kid friendly it was.  It is rated PG and stars many great actors and actresses. 

Artie and Diane, portrayed by Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, are asked to watch their three grandchildren while their daughter and her husband, played by Marisa Tomei and Tom Everett Scott, take a mini vacation.  Hilarity ensues when you mix old school parenting with 21st century technology savvy kids.

I really enjoyed this family friendly movie and I am sure my kids will as well.  It was a humorous portrayal of a modern family and a "technology challenged" older generation.  Billy Crystal and Bette Midler were fantastic as a couple trying so hard to win their daughter's and grandchildren's affections.  I loved how over zealous Diane was and how thoughtless Artie was.  Both felt unwelcome in their daughter's life and hoped to reconnect through their grandchildren.

 This story was fun, cute and at times a little sad but very entertaining nevertheless.  Get out the popcorn and gunny bears, sit down with your kids and start laughing with them.  I would score this movie 8 out of 10!
