synopsis

Wren, the rich girl with a tainted past, is on a crusade to track down her father’s murderer only to find not one, but two, bad men.

Moghul is a sadist and businessman, with a finger in every kinky enterprise he can get his hands on and a jaded view on life. When his eye turns to Wren, he realizes how dull life has been. He hasn't tried everything after all. When they can’t say no, things might be more…interesting.

Glass is the dominating ex-SAS soldier. Each man is determined to keep Wren for himself using methods that may be illegal, immoral, or likely to make somebody feel the pain for a long, long time.

 If you lie down with bad men, be prepared to get up on your knees.

The ending will be the reader’s decision. Give Wren to the dark or to the light, then read the other ending if you wish to. Mindf**ks included free.

This is a dark erotic story and some readers may find it disturbing.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Author Interview & Giveaway - A Shadow's Embrace by Cara Carnes

A Shadow's Embrace

by Cara Carnes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
On the run from evil, her only hope is the Shadows.
Devyn James escaped hell once. A rare technopath, she eventually broke out of the genetics testing facility with the help of the Shadow Elites—General Conver’s super soldiers, who rebelled and now fought to protect psychically enhanced humans.
For the past few months Devyn, or Indy as she’s known on the street, has covertly passed intel to the SEO. Even though the street doesn’t trust the Shadows, she does. They rescued her once and she knows they’re the only ones who will be able to save her from Conver and figure out what she uncovered.
 Dagan is determined to save the female being chased by Conver and his squadron. He soon discovers her identity and vows he’ll do anything to keep her protected—even if it’s from herself.
Together they discover everything is possible when you trust A Shadow’s Embrace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT:

Dagan smirked as he took a couple of steps back and reached for a plastic bag. He handed it to her. “Convenience food of the gods. Eat. Rest. Then we’ll talk.”

She peeked into the bag. Sour cream potato chips. Diet Coke. Packaged tuna sandwich. Fried cherry pie.

Her gaze narrowed. “Exactly how did you know what I like?”

“I have my ways.”

Tossing the bag on the bed behind her, she shoved him back. Or tried to. He chuckled.

“You read my mind while I was passed out?” That was…that was…Arg. She couldn’t even think about how screwed up that was.

“Like I said, you and I need to work on your perceptions of me.”

“Oh, gee, why would I think you’re a disreputable pain in the ass who’s one step above one of Conver’s minions? Could it be because you manipulated my mind? No? Well, maybe it has to do with the fact you dragged me out into the middle of nowhere, away from my team, and then read my mind to find out I prefer cherry pies over apple.”

He grabbed her wrist before the slap she attempted made contact. “Diaz suggested it, seemed to think it’d put me on your good side.”

Oh. Well.

“As for the other stuff, you know why I took control of you earlier today. Were we to switch places, you would’ve done the same thing."

He returned to the hovering position inches away. His other hand grasped the back of her neck and dragged her forward until their lips almost met. “Ease off the pissed just a little, babe, because I’m hanging on by a thread. I’m having a real hard time remembering you aren’t mine to protect. The more you argue, the hotter I get to prove exactly why I have the right to handle you.”

Let's learn a little about author Cara Carnes:

What is your writing environment?
Terrifying! LOL. Right now it’s in desperate need of some organization. Papers are strewn all over my L-shaped desk. I use the term desk very liberally because it’s really two long folding tables. Eventually I want to get a “real” desk, but this suits my needs now and leaves plenty of room for my copious amounts of plotting notes. The walls are covered with those large science project boards. And white boards. I have one wall with 2 white boards (I want more, but it’s a small room w/limited wall space). One wall has a bookshelf and a yellow project board. The wall I face has a TV for background noise, another small shelf and a red project board. The wall to my right has a couple of windows and a black project board.
It’s realllllly glamourous. Let me tell you.

Who is your perfect hero/heroine and why?

Honestly I wouldn’t say any of them are perfect. I tend to prefer flawed heroes and heroines who have to either learn something about themselves or overcome a problem of some sort.

What authors have caught your interest lately and why?

Ouch. I couldn’t possibly point anyone out over anyone else because a) I’m terribly behind on my reading and b) there are way too many wonderfully talented authors out there.

What type of book have you always wanted to write?

A dystopian style book of some sort because I enjoy world building challenges. I wouldn’t want to do anything on the norm for the book, though. I’m actually starting a paranormal style dystopian series and am very excited to see where it goes.

Top 3 things on your bucket list?

I don’t really have a bucket list so I’m making this up on the fly J
  1. Travel to New Zealand
  2. Explore Alaska
  3. Do a week-long abandon technology retreat….no phones, internet, etc.

How did you get the idea for this particular novel?

I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of psychic phenomena and I’m enthralled by covert ops books. My muse ruminated over the possibilities for a while, then I began research into locations, etc. I wanted the setting to be an active participant in the plot. That’s where the Chicago setting came into play and the presence of psychic children now displaced on the streets. Everything fell together from there.

What is your favorite scene in your new release?

Hmm….my real favorite would give away the plot, as would my second choice. So I’m afraid I can’t answer this question.

What are you working on now and when can we expect it to be available?

My current WIP is the next Rending series book. It’s a paranormal dystopian and carries on where the last one left off with a new heroine and Marek as the hero. I’m very excited about this series since I’ve always wanted to do a dystopian style book that’s different than the norm.

What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I love reading (obviously), photography and travel. I don’t get to do much of the latter because of my day job, but one day I hope to.

What is one interesting fact about you that readers don’t know?
LOL…. Honestly I’m quite boring. I can’t think of anything “interesting” about myself. Maybe that’s why I enjoy world building so much.

Review - Melting Into You by Cassandra Carr

Melting Into You
by Cassandra Carr
Genre: MM Romance

Seth Mason's life as a macaroni and cheese food truck owner in Austin, Texas, is pretty good, except for one thing: he'd like to find a man to share that life with. As part of an organization Seth founded, he donates leftovers to the local homeless shelter, and meets Ben, a new employee. He's a preppy guy, and very much not Seth's usual type, but the attraction is strong and not going away.

Ben's just moved to Austin from Connecticut to take a job as a case manager at the Austin City Mission, the first time he's left home and family. But only a short time after he starts work, he meets a man who, though he looks like an extra in a surfing movie, intrigues him. He's hardly seen what life in Austin has to offer, and yet finds he wants to discover that with Seth's help.

The passion burns hot between them--hotter even than Austin in the dog days of summer, and neither man can deny it. As they grow closer, both must decide if they have the necessary ingredients for lasting love, or if the relationship will go up in smoke.

My Review:

This was a very sweet romance featuring Seth, a food truck chef, and Ben, a case manager at an Austin mission.  Seth is very attracted to the new case manager at the local mission he donates leftovers to.  Ben is new to Austin and finds himself looking forward to brief glimpses of the hot food truck owner.  Their romance is so sweet and well written.  I enjoyed the slow building of their relationship, with the flirting and off the charts sexual chemistry.  This book has everything a romance lover looks for in a great story. ~Booklover Sue

She thinks the best part of being a writer is penning stories about love and sex while most others struggle with commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers.

Spotlight & Giveaway - Savage by Jade C. Jamison

Are you ready for the ultimate tale of survival?

SAVAGE IS

NOW AVAILABLE!

Blurb:

Kill or Die

Nina Hardwick has had a rough life since leaving high school, but inside she is still the girl looking for a silver lining. The past several years have left their toll on her psyche,and just as she feels like she’s climbing out of a deep abyss, her life and the lives of millions of others fall into shambles as a virus overtakes the country and leaves a plague of undead armies scouring the land.

In a desperate attempt to get away from the infected, Nina and some neighbors speed out of town, nearly killing a man on a motorcycle. When they stop to rescue him, Nina realizes that he is the one man from her past she never got over, the guy who should have been her high school sweetheart until she messed it up. But this unrequited love, Kevin Savage, says he doesn’t even remember her. Or does he?

Nina, Kevin, and her neighbors head to the wilderness and fight to survive not only the plague but also hunger, cold, their inner demons…and even each other. Will they survive and, more importantly, will her heart?

Excerpt:

I froze.  My heart was thumping in my chest and time seemed to have slowed to a crawl, so I watched as they got closer and my friends steeled themselves for engagement.  As though I was removed from the action, I saw chopping, swinging, lunging…as if I weren’t there on the battlefield.  Then I saw the violent gray body lunge at me, teeth gnashing and fingers clawing, but I couldn’t make myself move.  All around me, I saw my companions felling these creatures but I couldn’t seem to bring myself to do it.

It would be my demise.

I could hear Kevin beside me, yelling at me while fending off his own attacker, but then he lunged in front of me, shoving the tire iron in the neck of the creature that was ready to eat me alive, making it drop to the ground.

And then, suddenly, it was over.

They were all dead.  My friends’ weapons—and their response—had saved us.

Everything became more vivid then.  The blood seemed even redder on the pristine snow; the skies were a brilliant blue, the evergreens, the richest shade of olive I’d ever seen.

And then time sped up again, and Kevin gripped my shoulders, forcing me to look at him.  I could sense Larry beside me ready to say something too, but he was leaving it up to the man who had my attention.  “You can’t just stand there and do nothing.  They’ll kill you, Nina.  It’s you or them.  Kill or die, Nina Davis.”  His jaw rippled before he repeated each word with force.  “Kill or die.”

In spite of the fear that had drained my body and despite the new appreciation I suddenly had for living, it didn’t escape my attention that he’d called me by my maiden name.

His face was so close to mine, his expression intense, his eyes like cold steel.  He was a thing to be feared, and yet…I expected him to kiss me…

About the Author:

Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade's day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn't stop her from doing a little writing herself.
Unfortunately, there's no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women's fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you'll see that her writing doesn't quite fit any of those genres.
You'll have to discover Jade's writing for yourself to decide if you like it.
