Josie Kerr is a transplanted West Texan living on the edge of semi-profoundly rural Georgia, a.k.a. the southernmost edge of the northernmost county in Metro Atlanta.
She has an M.Ed. in Secondary English Education, but discovered
that she hated high school more the second time than she did the first, so she
decided to meld her love of technology with her education background and became
an Instructional Designer. When not writing articles about how to fire someone
without getting sued or why you should really not apply for jobs using your SexxyStud99@aol.com email address, she
writes steamy romance novels that feature grown-up Heroes and Heroines.

Talking with author Josie Kerr!
What is your writing process?
I'm what I like to call an Organized Pantser. I make a
rough outline of about 1000 words, laying out the major action of the story.
How the characters get from point A to point B is generally a surprise, but I
usually have some sort of idea about what's going to happen, although there's
always that *one* troublemaker who seems to have a mind of his/her own and does
whatever the hell s/he wants.
What authors have caught your interest lately and
why?
I recently read a work by Faith Gibson -- Ghost in the
Mirror. I love military romance, and mystery ad suspense, and some paranormal,
and this book had all of that. I absolutely loved it. It was a great balance of
mystery and suspense, and the military and LGBT (did I mention it's MM/LGBT
too?) were handled with sensitivity. Oh, and some steamy scenes too!
What was your inspiration for this particular
novel?
I love military romance, and in keeping with the DS
Fight Club theme of "what's next?," I'm telling Ryan's story - what
happens when he returns from Afghanistan. I wanted to explore intimacy and sex
and what happens when there is one without the other.
What is your favorite scene in your new release?
My favorite scene is very short - Jason, Ryan's twin
brother, walks in on Junior and Ryan in the kitchen, groping each other. It's
very funny, very hot, and a little bit sweet.
What types of scenes are your most favorite to
write?
I love to write funny yet touching scenes where the
characters find some sort of Truth through a humorous interaction.
What are you working on now and when can we
expect it to be available?
Right now I'm working on a girl fighter story, the
penultimate novel in the DS Fight Club series. Right now, "Clincher"
is set for release in September 2017.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I love to read (of course!) and scour antique and
vintage shops for the perfect piece of carnival glass.
What is one interesting fact about you that
readers don’t know?
I specialized in medieval German literature in college.
Because I'm super practical.
You’ll be attending the RT Booklovers Convention
in Atlanta, May 2-7th. What can readers expect if they go?
Readers
can expect a ton of great panels from a huge variety of authors who write in
every subgenre you can imagine (and probably some you can't!)
