Talking with author Anna Schmidt!
How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
Because it is a sequel and part of a series,
the idea was already there. The character of Addie Wilcox came out of book one.
She was supposed to be a secondary character, but everyone loved her, so she
gets her story told.
What is your favorite scene in your new release?
Probably the opening scene--the party where
Addie realizes Jess has returned, and suddenly the life she thought she had
accepted is turned upside down.
What are you working on now and when can we expect it to be
available?
Last Chance Cowboys is a 4-book series. Book
3, THE OUTLAW, will be out in 2017. The finale of the series, THE RANCHER, is
not yet scheduled but probably late 2017 or early 2018. I'm working on THE
RANCHER now and having a tough time saying farewell to the Porterfield family.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Travel (just came back from a great trip to
New Mexico); take long walks; read; go to movies and plays; and I am an avid
college basketball fan.
What is one interesting fact about you that readers don’t know?
I have a masters in theater arts and once
actually performed on an off-Broadway stage.
Top 3 things on your bucket list?
I’m not someone who plans…I take life one day
at a time and remain open to the serendipity.
Do you have a genre that you can see yourself writing in the
future?
I would love to do a mainstream story where
the challenges the main character faces are far more complex and multi-faceted.
