My Review:

I have been looking forward to this second book since reading The High King's Golden Tongue!  Normally I am not a fan of fantasy romance but I fell in love with the Tales of High Court series.  Author Megan Derr has such a wonderful way with words that captivated me from beginning to end.  The Pirate of Fathoms Deep features High Commander Lesto, a dangerous yet very honorable man who found himself enthralled by a pirate who had the spirit to punch him while awaiting his fate for being a captured pirate.  Shemal has been pardoned and is now trying to prove himself worthy of a nobleman like Lesto.

This fascinating tale is full of action and humor that I was unable to put it down and spend time with my family.  Witty dialogue and the fast paced storyline had me eagerly devouring this book.  A little more of a lighter read than the first book but just as well written with wonderful world building.  I highly recommend this book to lovers of all genres of romance and I also encourage new readers to start at book 1, it is not exactly needed to enjoy and understand this story but you will not be disappointed at all if you do as some of its captivating characters do make appearances. 4.5 stars!
