Author Interview & Spotlight - Southern Heat (A Game On Novel) by Parker Kincade

Southern Heat
A Game On Novel
by Parker Kincade
Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance

*******

Tyler Brady earned his reputation as the bad boy of baseball the old-fashioned way: by playing hard—on and off the field. After suffering a shoulder injury, he faces his first summer off in twenty years. Between the endless physical therapy sessions and missing the season, Tyler’s patience is about to blow.

After suffering a devastating breakup, Gabriella Marano is ready to play the field. Who better to reacquaint her with the pleasures of sex than a devastatingly handsome ball player? Tyler is well equipped to give her what she needs: a little harmless fun.

As their passion soars, Tyler realizes the woman who fires his blood holds his future in the palm of her hands.

In more ways than one.

Talking With Author Parker Kincade!
What is your writing environment?
I have a great home office. I’ve got sexy pictures on the walls and white boards and everything. However, I use my desk for writing less than half the time. I write where I’m comfortable – curled up on the love seat in the living room, or sitting cross-legged in my bed. Sometimes I go to Panera and work there for 3-4 hours at a time. As long as I have my ear buds and good writing music, I’ll pretty much write anywhere.

What authors have caught your interest lately and why?
I’ll read anything Cara McKenna writes. I discovered her books last year, and have since read my way through her backlist. I love the raw honesty of the characters she writes. JR Ward is an old favorite for her ability to craft a story. I know when I start one of her books, I’m going to be taken on an emotional joy-ride.
Top 3 things on your bucket list?
I have a personal bucket list and a professional bucket list. I’ll stick to the personal, since those are more interesting. J The top 3 things on my personal list are to spend time in Ireland; visit the 15 states I’ve not been to yet; and travel through Italy.
How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
From the moment the main character, Tyler Brady, was injured in book one (Spring Training), I knew I wanted to explore his recovery and return to the game. I’ve been a massage therapist (specializing in sports therapy) for many years, and had been looking for the opportunity to write a character where I could utilize my personal experience working with professional athletes. Of course, Tyler and Gabriella had their own story to tell that had absolutely nothing to do with my reality as a therapist!
What is your favorite scene in your new release?
It’s hard to pick just one! There is a scene where Tyler has a confrontation with Gabriella’s ex-boyfriend. It’s the first time Tyler feels protective of Gabriella. Cocky and somewhat arrogant, Tyler enjoys putting her ex in his place. It was a fun scene to write. I love them all, though!
What are you working on now and when can we expect it to be available?
I’m working on book 3 in my Martin Family series (romantic suspense), and also a Martin Family novella. Both will be released in 2016.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
I read … a lot. I spend time with my family and friends. I have a boxer I absolutely adore, so I spend a good deal of time spoiling him. I also might have a slight addiction to Clash of Clans (thanks to my big brother).
What is one interesting fact about you that readers don’t know?
I don’t eat cooked fruit. And I love berries, but I won’t eat them pre-frozen and rarely eat them fresh. I buy them fresh, freeze them, and then eat them frozen. I’m not sure if that’s interesting or neurotic.
