Camouflaged Encounters immediately draws you into an intense experience a young man, Clark Jackson, has while attending a professional baseball game in Chicago. The lights go out. The reader goes through the gamut of moments from the moment those lights go out as Clark goes from the realization that those light aren't coming back on anytime soon. The mood of the crowd ranges from laughing to nervousness to suppressed violence. It is at this point when panic ensues and Clark meets a vulnerable young woman, Maria and her young son Joey. As the three join to try to get to safety, the people in Chicago drag you into the hell of society gone crazy. The darkness travels from one major city to another and people are lost in the terror of the dark.
As if the apocalyptic nature of the story isn't enough, the reader discovers Clark can and has traveled to other worlds through a secret portal. When the possibility is discovered that an alien race may be the culprit of the strange and growing negative events on Earth, Clark must find out who and what these aliens are so he can help stop them from destroying the human race and the planet on which he and millions of other people reside.
Because I love a good disaster tale, I have given this book a 3.5 stars. ~JoEllen
