Book Tour: Interview & Giveaway - Loose Corset by Christine Rains

Loose Corset
Dice & Debauchery, Book #1

by Christine Rains

BLURB:

Dice and Debauchery, Book 1

A weekend away at a convention is exactly what overworked student Morgan needs. Dressed as her character from her favorite online game, Morgan is braced—seriously, could her corset be tighter?—to meet the other players. As Lady Gyrfalcon, she’s ready for everything—except her intense attraction to Dean. A clandestine meeting in the hallway of the hotel and Morgan’s corset is looser but now she can’t breathe for entirely different reasons.

Utterly charmed, Morgan decides to roll the dice and indulge in a fantasy-worthy weekend of sexy roleplaying, scorching sex and life-altering orgasms. Still, through it all Morgan is too smart to believe the chemistry constantly stripping her of costumes and control can last more than the length of the convention. But if she wants to keep a relationship so intense she thought it only existed in fiction, she’s going to have to let go of her cool-headed logic and allow herself to fall far and fast for the perfect guy.

EXCERPT:

Geek girl problem #77: When things are going your way, you always suspect a boss fight around the next corner.

Stomping out of the bathroom, I froze upon seeing Russell standing in the alcove between the drinking fountains across from me. Dressed as Snidely Whiplash, he had the perfect sneer for the character.

“Come to kidnap me and tie me to the train tracks?” I folded my arms and stepped out of the way of a group of girls going into the bathroom.

“Don’t tempt me. It would save us all a lot of trouble.” Russell’s sharp and bitter tone carried a phantom slap.

I hesitated, weighing the situation. He obviously didn’t like me, but why? I hadn’t felt such hate when we first met, no matter that we were playing enemies. Did something so horrible happen between him and Emily, he was taking it out on me? But why did it feel more personal than that?

“Okay.” I took in a deep, slow breath and let it out. “Clearly you wanted to talk to me since you’re waiting here. What did you want to say?”

“End this thing between you and Dean now. Today at least. Don’t drag it out. You’ll only cause more damage if you do.”

Not what I expected in the least. What did he have against me and Dean? Did he not think I was good enough for his cousin?

“What’s between Dean and I is our own business.” There. A mature and reasonable reply. I wasn’t going to resort to growling back at him.

“And what is between you, hm?” Russell raised his comical eyebrows. It looked silly and somehow foreboding. “Girlfriend and boyfriend? Or just a con fling?”

Let's learn a little about author Christine Rains!

1. What is your writing environment?
Two years ago, I bought a beautiful black L-shaped desk. It takes up most of the small room I call my office. I have Tawa the stuffed hippo sitting at the top, all my stories ever published on one shelf, and the first dollar I made in a frame. I have a ton of pictures of my son and a few pewter fantasy figures. Plus there are the TARDIS lights. They make me smile every time I turn them on.

2. Who is your perfect hero and why?
My perfect hero in books is that person who sticks to their morals no matter what happens. They must be intelligent and compassionate, and a good sense of humor goes a long way. In real life, I love the every day heroes. Doing something nice, no matter how small, can make all the difference in a person's life.

3. What authors have caught your interest lately and why?
One author that has really wowed me recently is Christopher Buehlman. He writes dark urban fantasy/horror. He's highly original and knows how to create vivid chilling images. I've always been fascinated by what lurks in the dark, and Christopher has brought out something new. His latest book, The Lesser Dead, puts a new spin on the legend of vampires.

4. What type of book have you always wanted to write?
I have been a big fan of Stephen King from the time I was ten. Back then, I loved his horror stories. I now appreciate his phenomenal characters and world building skills, but there is still a part of me that wants to write a book that scares people.

5. Top 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to England, go on a ghost hunt, and buy a getaway cabin in Alaska.

6. How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
I heard Ellora's Cave had an open call for a fun theme called Geekgasm. I've been playing around with the idea of writing a contemporary romance about geeks, and this gave me the motivation. I just had to make it a little more naughty than I originally intended! I want to see more romance and erotica stories about real geeks. That's what drove me to write this series.

7. What is your favorite scene in your new release?
My favorite scene is the first part where Morgan is in a pub's bathroom and loosens the laces of her corset to breathe. The problem is she can't get them done up again by herself and she doesn't have her cell phone. She couldn't manage to get the attention of her best friend, but Dean happens upon her and offers to lend a helping hand. In more ways than one!

8. What are you working on now and when can we expect it to be available?
I'm working on the final revision of an urban fantasy novel called OF BLOOD AND SORROW. It's something unusual in this genre, and I hope to have it out by mid-February or March.

9. What do you like to do when you're not writing?
When I'm not writing, I'm usually playing games or going on adventures with my preschooler. I love watching cheesy sci-fi movies, and I have a regular TV schedule that includes shows like The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Doctor Who, and The Big Bang Theory. I also think a lot about writing when I'm not writing as I'm sure most writers do!

10. What would you consider a perfect date?
I'm not a fancy person. Pizza and a movie sounds wonderful to me. I can't remember the last time I even did that! Now if I had a bigger budget, I'd love to be swept away to a little cottage in Alaska for a weekend or to explore a castle in England.

11. What is one interesting fact about you that readers do not know?
I'm terrified to speak in front of a group of people. I have yet to faint, but I've lost my voice, and my face always turns beet red. Yet I still make myself do it whenever the opportunity arises. I think it's important to face your fears. Unless you're afraid of Cthulhu. That's when you run. Run really fast!

    1. Thanks! Awesome. I've been on a ghost tour, but that's not the same as a hunt like with paranormal investigators.
