Blurb:

In the latest tantalizing Rule Breakers novel from Jennifer Chance, an irresistible alpha male follows his ex into a deadly standoff—and reignites a heated affair.

For Erin Connelly, being a good girl isn’t such a bad thing. She’s working her dream job at a Boston art gallery and staying out of trouble, which is more than she can say for her deadbeat mom. Unfortunately, her mother’s latest misadventure lands her in the clutches of a Mexican drug lord. Now the only person who can save her is the one man Erin has no business asking for help: the sexy-as-sin army ranger who just so happens to be her former high school sweetheart.

Zander James is no gentleman—and no officer, either, thanks to Erin. Four years ago, she made a call that terminated his highest aspirations . . . and their relationship. He’s never forgiven her, but when he learns that Erin’s embarking on a half-baked rescue mission, he sure as hell can’t let her go alone. Now, with a treacherous enemy lying in wait, the electrifying tension between them may just be Zander’s undoing. Because while he may be able to keep Erin alive, he can’t promise to keep his hands off her.

Let's learn a little about author Jennifer Chance!

What is your writing environment?
I work on a laptop almost exclusively, so I can be found just about anywhere in my house – my porch, my recliner, my couch, my bed . . . and sometimes, even, my desk! When I’m offsite, I can be found in coffee shops and breakfast restaurants—I’m that crazy lady typing and crying in the corner! J

Who is your perfect hero/heroine? Why?
My perfect hero is anyone who loves the heroine unconditionally—despite her quirks, her failings, or her bad attitude. Why? Because we need a little more unconditional love in this world, I’ve found. My perfect heroine is someone who is strong enough to be a good partner to the hero, and a centered woman all on her own.

Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why?
I’m actually super excited to dive in fellow LoveSwept author Tracy Wolff’s new Play Me series (which launched Dec. 2!) – a series of books that tell one story, all released the same day! This seems like a tantalizing way to tell a story, and I’ll be excited to follow Sebastian and Aria’s story all the way through.

What type of book have you always wanted to write?
Actually, writing military suspense was always something that I thought would be intriguing, and Want It has just the barest taste of that. It was so much fun to see the story come together! So perhaps a full-fledged suspense book of some type is in my future.

Top 3 things on your bucket list:
OOOoooo – Great Question! Live on an island, visit all seven continents, and hey! Be a NYT Bestselling author! J

How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
Want It grew from Zander more than anything—as I developed the idea of him as an Army Ranger, I knew I needed a story that would match someone who knew how to manage danger and be a “true” hero. And the idea of a rekindled romance really resonated with me—it was a new idea to explore for the series.

What is your favorite scene in your newest release?
I think the scene that was the most fun to write involved a swimming pool, lol. However, the scene I would say is my favorite is Erin at Zander’s house at the opening of the book, when he is trying to get her to explain what’s bothering her and she tries not to lose her mind. Their first kiss made me smile!

What is the last movie you watched and loved?
I will fall on my Epically Lame sword—I rarely get a chance to see movies! But one I saw recently and ADORED was GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. It was funny, charming, had elements of adventure and space opera to it, but was really about all of these wonderful characters coming together to fight a common enemy. Brilliant!

What would you consider a “perfect date”?
Another great question. I think a perfect date for me would be a walk with my boyfriend along a moonlit beach, the lights of civilization in the distance—close, but not too close—after a romantic dinner in the open air. We’d talk about anything and everything, and know that the evening still stretched out before us, full of promise and possibility.
Okay, I need to go find a beach resort now. J

What are you currently working on?
RISK IT! Dani and Rand’s story is shaping up to be a lot of fun and pretty steamy, as the brownstone’s resident con artist meets her match in a playboy tycoon who pushes Dani to her limits. I’m in revisions now and I so look forward to it releasing this Spring!
