My Review:
I really enjoyed this sexy romance by the wonderful Sidney Bristol. This is book 2 in the Bayou Bound series but can be read as a standalone (there are appearances of characters from the first book but it does not need to be read to enjoy and understand this one). Mathieu is a detective in New Orleans who is recovering from divorce and does not want another damsel in distress (his wife was characterized as this). His sister asks for his help in protecting a woman from her ex-boyfriend and he reluctantly agrees when that woman is the "one he sent away". Lisette is being stalked and terrorized by her ex-boyfriend and returns to her home town to hide and get protection from another ex-boyfriend. This sexy and suspenseful story grabbed my attention from page one. This is a well written and emotional story of a woman attempting to reconnect with herself and her past. The building of Mathieu's and Lisette's relationship was beautifully told as both of these characters had pasts that they needed to resolve in order for them to build a future together. I highly recommend this wonderful yet nail-biting romantic story to readers. Warning: this book does feature kinky characters and BDSM elements, so have a glass of ice-cold water nearby! ~Booklover Sue
