Blurb:

In Katie Rose’s irresistible battle of wits, a case of mistaken identity lands a female fan in bed with a sexy superstar—and in major-league trouble.

House-sitting for a rich and famous friend has its perks, and Darcy Hamel isn’t shy about enjoying them. Especially when it means scoring a ticket to an exclusive fashion show hosted by the New Jersey Sonics. An avid baseball fan, Darcy has always dreamed of meeting the team—especially the starting pitcher whose body is as hot as his fastball. But there’s a catch. The gala is by invitation only. To get behind the velvet rope, mild-mannered Darcy will have to pose as party girl Lydia Logan.

Schmoozing is one of the downsides of fame, but Chase Westbrook knows how to liven up even the dullest event. And nothing spices a night up more than a beautiful socialite with a naughty reputation. What Chase doesn’t expect is a hint of sweetness beneath her sultry façade. Flirtation turns to seduction and leaves him aching for more. Chase just doesn’t know who the real Lydia is: the spoiled tease crying foul over some missing diamonds or the alluring woman making a play for his heart.

Let's learn a little about Katie Rose's favorite Heroes:

As a multi-published romance writer, I give a lot of thought the leading men in my life. There’s always a lot of talk about alpha males, bad boys, testosterone pumped juice heads versus the Clark Kent counterpart.

I have to admit, I’m greedy. I love all types. In BRING ON THE HEAT, our hero is a young, dynamic pitcher for the New Jersey Sonics. Chase Westbrook is  extremely talented, dedicated, and gorgeous. With his black hair, blue eyes, and GQ looks, Chase is not only destined for athletic greatness, but a lucrative career as a spokesman for everything anyone has to sell. And although he hates to be a model for a charity fashion show event, the camera loves him and he is photographed constantly.
But the hottest thing about Chase is that he’s oblivious to all the hype. He is focused on pitching, has an incredible work ethic, shows up early at the ballpark for extra practice, and puts a lot of thought into his strategy. So conceit is not one of Chase’s flaws. However, he’s a little misguided in what he thinks he should do with his life, mainly because of pressure from his parents.
Chase has a domineering father who is a big influence in his life. His dad wants him to go for the gold, to shoot for a team like the Yankees where he will command a lucrative salary and the attention of every advertising agency out there. His father’s aspirations have more to do with fear of his son getting hurt than just fame and money. As the owner of the construction business, he sees men sustaining injuries every day and is very much afraid some hotheaded rookie looking to make a name for himself will choose Chase as a target. He feels Chase should make the money, get out and settle down.
So when Chase meets a girl who he thinks is Lydia Logan, party girl and heiress to a potato chip fortune, he sees her as part of the package of who he should aspire to be: a starting pitcher with a first rate team, a beautiful woman on his arm, and a World Series ring on his finger. When the socialite falls asleep at his place after drinking too much, slips out in the morning and leaves her diamond earrings behind, he decides to hold onto the jewels and pursue her.
But once he becomes involved, Lydia fascinates him and enchants him. This woman is nothing like the cold heartless man eater he expects. Instead, there is a sweetness about her that reminds him of the girl next door, a woman he cannot only love, but befriend. And when he gets hurt and loses a big game, his teammates show him how much they care about him, he begins to rethink where he’s headed and whose dream he is living.
I had a lot of fun spending time with Chase as a hero. I think all of us reach a point in our lives when we realize we have to break free from our parents’ expectations and goals, and live our own authentic life. Chase does that, and finds true happiness.
So as a reader, is there a particular hero you love?
