Chapter
One
“Jesus H. Christ, Ramirez! Can you not to get
us killed before we get there,” Donovan growled.
“Sorry, cariño, but there is no
time to be worried about your delightful ass bouncing on the seat when we have
to find a missing kid.”
“I told you to stop calling me
darling!”
“Ramirez…” Brock sighed.
Their constant bickering wasn’t
unusual, so he ignored it and focused on the scene ahead. Multiple police cars
parked outside the house he’d called the local PD on. The house he knew had the
latest missing person they had been searching for.
“Oh, God!” Fear laced Donovan’s
whisper.
They were thinking the same
thing. That whoever kidnapped little Kyler Jones had killed her. That his
request for the county to get to the house in question had been too late. His
gaze roamed the area through the darkness of the early evening. Multitudes of
tall willows surrounded the large house set in the middle of nowhere. Perfect.
If he’d been looking for a place to do some of the things the person in that
house was known for, this was the right spot. There wasn’t a body around for
miles. Nobody to get help. Nobody to hear the screams.
This was a wonderful paranormal story. This is the second book in this series but reading the first book isn't necessary to enjoy this one. James Brock is the leader of a federal paranormal agency and he is totally hot and sexy, he is also a mystery. All members of this agency have special "talents" of the paranormal kind and his are very special. Cynthia Vega was his first love who left him years ago and now she is back and in charge of his team. She is a very determined lady who left the man she loved to save him. Cynthia and James are a fascinating couple and I enjoyed reading about their growing relationship. This book had romance, humor, mystery and paranormal elements that had me unable to put this book down. It was well written and left me wanting to read more in this wonderful series. I highly recommend this book and series to lovers of paranormal romantic suspense tales. ~Booklover Sue

her books:
I couldn’t possibly pick
one but there are a couple I simply adore because they mix so well.
1. Aric and Jordan – Scent of a Mate - I
adore these two. Aric is very alpha but knew when to pull back to give Jordan
space. I think she needed someone who really showed her he cared but didn’t
overwhelm her with his love. Because she was wary of him and the emotions he
stirred in her, their finding their HEA made it all that much more special.
2. Trent and Erica – Wolf Protector - Yes,
these two made the cut. How can you NOT adore a sexy man with charm and some
serious humor like Trent? His personality helped Erica let loose and not be so
uptight when so much of her life is so serious. They were a great match.
3. Ariana and Nick – Their Second Chance –
What is there NOT to love about a married couple that fought for their
relationship and won? They truly loved each other and because of
miscommunication almost lost what they valued most, their marriage. I think
they will be forever part of my favorites.
