Book Tour, Interview and Giveaway - Turn Up The Heat (Pine Mountain #1) by Kimberly Kincaid

Turn Up the Heat

Pine Mountain #1

By: Kimberly Kincaid

Releasing March 4th, 2014

Blurb:

"It's not you."

There are only so many times a girl can hear those words before she believes that it is, in fact, very much her. Unexpectedly jilted by her locally famous boyfriend and haunted by a boss who makes Attila the Hun look like a lap dog, Bellamy Blake does what any self-respecting girl in her shoes would do. She rounds up her two best girlfriends and makes plans to get the hell out of Dodge.

But Bellamy's escape plan takes a nose dive on the side of rural route 164 when her transmission self-destructs, leaving her in the middle of a cell phone dead zone with nothing but her wits. Oh, and Shane Griffin, the hottest mechanic who's ever checked under her hood.

Yet this small-town man isn't all he seems. Can Shane and Bellamy prove that sometimes the most unlikely ingredients make the most deliciously sexy mix?

Let's Learn a Little About Kimberly Kincaid:

What is your writing environment? I have an office in my house and I'm pretty partial to it! I'm not the kind of writer who just sit and write anywhere. My office had dark red walls and great bookshelves for all my keepers. Also, I have the ugliest desk chair in the galaxy. It's ancient and creaky and just awesome. I will never part with it!

Who is your perfect hero and why? Get your "aww" ready...totally my husband. I got really lost on my way to my very first big-deal book signing not too long ago (my GPS malfunctioned), and I called him up, just bawling. Instead of treating me like the crazy-person I was in that moment, he calmed me down and figured out where I was, then stayed on the phone with me to walk me through every intersection of the directions so I could get there. Total hero!

What authors have caught your interest lately and why? This is a huge list. For hot contemporary, I love Robin Covington, Avery Flynn, and Gina L. Maxwell. I can always count on Tracy Brogan to make me laugh with her rom coms (and swoon over her heroes!) And I really adore Roxanne St. Claire's Barefoot series.

What type of book have you always wanted to write? Besides sexy-sweet contemporaries? I'd love to write a cookbook.

Top 3 things on your bucket list? I tend to actually do the stuff on my Bucket List! I want to tag along with Guy Fieri on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (he gets to eat the BEST food!), I want to go hiking on a volcano tour in Hawaii, and I want to take a pottery-making class one day.

How did you get the idea for this particular novel? This book had a few different incarnations before it became the story you see now. But the big idea came when I was driving around trying to fight off writer's block. I get almost all my aha ideas in the car. Thank God for my iPhone "record" button!

What is your favorite scene in your new release? I have a lot of them! But there's a scene where my hero, Shane, sees the heroine Bellamy in the grocery store and he kind of eavesdrops on her. But what he sees isn't what he's expecting. I think it's the first moment he realizes he really likes her, and that he's gonna be in for it!

What are you working on now and when can we expect it to be available? There are four Pine Mountain books scheduled for this year (Gimme Some Sugar in June 2014, Stirring Up Trouble in October 2014, and Fire Me Up in February 2015). Right now I'm working on book one of my next project, but it is a spinoff from Pine Mountain. Can't wait!

What do you like to do when you are not writing? I cook a lot, and eat even more :) I also read, practice a lot of yoga, and spend time with my husband and kids.

What would you consider a perfect date? I love finding great new restaurants! I'm also active, so I love things like hiking and boating and being outside. But I'm happy getting dressed up and going out for a night on the town too. Equal opportunity!

What is one interesting fact about you that readers don’t know? I've never done karaoke, ever. My friends all make fun, but trust me. It's better for the population if I politely decline!

Author Info:
Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. When she's not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as "The Pleather Bomber", she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a 2011 RWA Golden Heart® finalist who lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. She has written two digital novellas, Love On The Line and Drawing The Line, about hot cops and sexy chefs, with a third novella, Outside The Lines, due this summer. She is also thrilled to have collaborated on a Christmas anthology with Donna Kauffman and Kate Angell, titled The Sugar Cookie Sweetheart Swap, to kick off her Pine Mountain foodie series with Kensington this October. Kimberly’s first full-length novel, Turn Up the Heat, will follow in February 2014. She resides in northern Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters.
