The
stunning daughter of the French nobleman Dominique, marquis d’Chartes and the
African beauty Imani Marsan, Soleil is captivated by everything during her
first trip to America including Alex.
She loves him almost from their first meeting. However, their love is
interrupted when she is abducted and sold into slavery. Alone and scared she only wishes to regain
her freedom.
Alexander
couldn't help but love the exotic beauty with the caramel skin that made him
want to taste it. Losing her was the
hardest day of his life. After years of searching she appears as if conjured by
his deepest desires. But she returns far from the same. Can they rekindle their love or will they
never find the freedom only love can bring.

Excerpt:
Jane ran as fast as she could. She refused to be caught by Jacob and his men
even if she had to die trying to escape.
Between the gash across her stomach and the small load on her back she
was moving slowly in her progression, but she would not give up. She had to find a river and soon to conceal
her scent. With her wound bleeding
harder under the strain of her physical exertion, the bloodhounds had no
problem keeping track of her.
“Maman, I’m scared.”
Jane reached around her back to sooth her daughter. “I will not let you come to any harm mon
amour.” Jane knew the little girl was
scared beyond belief. She had seen the
beatings Jacob had given Jane and knew that if he caught them there would be
hell to pay. Jacob and his men were
getting closer with each passing second and it wouldn’t be long before they
were caught. Jane couldn’t let anything
happen to Hope and had to keep her safe.
With a look over her shoulder Jane made a decision.

Author Interview:
What is your writing environment.
I
usually write at home while I am stretched out on the coach. I typically zone out when I am writing and
don’t really pay attention to much around me for hours at a time, so it doesn’t
matter what is going on around me. I can be writing with my husband blaring the
TV while watching a football game and I wouldn’t notice. I just try to make sure that I am in a
comfortable position so that I am not stiff when I come out of my zombie writing
state.
Who is your perfect hero? And why?
I
like a hero that is strong enough to allow the heroine to feel safe and
delicate. I like when he is confident, but not arrogant. He should have at least one romantic bone in
his body or else I don’t feel that it is believable when the heroine just falls
in love with him in the end. Of course a
smoking hot body doesn’t hurt either.
Which authors have caught your
interest lately? Why?
I
love Pepper Pace. She is so
amazing! I love the uniqueness of her
stories. Her characters are all flawed and are not your typical heroes and
heroines. They are normal people dealing
with their problems while trying to find love. It is very easy to relate to or
see parts of myself in some of her characters.
What type of book have you always
wanted to write?
I
have always wanted to write Romance Novels. I have been reading them ever since
I was in middle school (granted I probably shouldn’t have been reading them
that young). I will say however, that I
don’t really write flowers and sunshine romance. I think that true love comes from your
ability to overcome the bad and not always having the good.
What’s the last movie you watched
and loved?
The
last movie that I watched and loved was Kick Ass 2. I thought it was better than the first
one. I love to laugh and this movie
definitely delivered the funny. I will
admit it was a little more adult/dirty humor, but what can I say, I like
indulging in my primitive brain humor every once in a while.
Top three things on your bucket list
- I
want to be on the Ellen Degeneres show
- I
want to learn another language (working on my Spanish now)
- I
want to have my own library in my house
How did you get the idea for this
particular novel?
Nothing
really ever gives me ideas per say. I usually just drift off into space and
starting thinking. Things just come to me.
I will admit I do have a bad habit of spacing out when driving. I’ll get
home having no clue how I got there, but I’ll have the first chapter of my book
outlined in my head.
What is your favorite scene in your
new release?
My
favorite scene is the one between Alex and Soleil when they are children, and
they are talking by the lake during their first meeting. I really enjoyed
writing the scene because I got to put some good humor into it and really draw
out each of their base natures. When I
finished writing it I had a moment where I thought, “Alex you sly devil. Smooth even at such a young age.”
What’s your idea of a perfect date?
My
idea of the perfect date includes talking and an activity that facilitates
talking. I don’t particularly care for
going to the movies because you have to be quiet the entire time and you never
really get the chance to know the other person.
I would rather go to an arcade and play games. You get to know each
other and you can even get nonverbal glimpses into their personality such as
how competitive they are with you or the games.
If you could take a romantic trip,
where would it be?
If
I could take a romantic trip it would be to an all-inclusive beach resort in
the Caribbean. Me and my husband would
just sit around, feed each other, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Maybe watch the sunset (not enough a morning
person for sunrise) over the ocean while we sat on the beach. And we would do a few water and outdoor
activities like hiking, snorkeling, etc.

Raised
in Charlotte NC, G.S. Carr has always enjoyed indulging in her imagination. At
a very young age she had a thirst for reading and the many possibilities it
helped come alive in her mind’s eye. She
consumed books like they were the air she needed to survive. It seemed
inevitable that her love of reading would transcend into a desire to create her
own stories. She began writing poetry
and stories at the age of 10. By the
time she was thirteen she found her passion in the romance genre and has not
looked back ever since.
