My Review: I LOVED THIS STORY!
The storyline was so beautiful and emotional with two wounded souls just trying to live day by day.
Erin works for an accounting firm who years ago experienced a traumatic event and never really recovered from it. She is unhappy and lonely. While forcing herself to do a shopping trip, she purchases a journal to help her deal with the frustrations of her current life. This journal becomes her only friend and it was both heart wrenching and amazing to me.
Marcus is a mixed martial arts fighter who works nights as a janitor at Erin's firm. He had a horrendous childhood in which he did his best to protect his sister and fights the rage everyday. He stumbles upon Erin's journal and against his better judgment, reads it.He is so moved that he decides to attempt encourage Erin with words.
This was a book that I could not put down! I felt for these two and needed to know that they could find happiness. I became engrossed in their "courtship" through this journal as they helped each other feel not so alone. Marcus gave Erin strength and security while she in return gave him gentleness and the ability to be the protector that he is. I love the determination that Erin had to try to be stronger and change what she feels is wrong with her life. Marcus has this same determination and such a strong character. He doesn't really realize how loved he is by everyone he interacts with and he is so sweet and caring. Once these two finally do meet, there is great sexual chemistry between them but because this is a "courtship" it builds gradually yet beautifully.
I highly recommend this book!
