Rescue Me

BLURB:
Josef
Garrison farms land that once belonged to his family for generations but went
to his neighbor Elaine after his great-grandfather lost it in a poker game to
Catherine’s great-grandfather. When Catherine returns, he sees a way to win
back her heart and the land at the same time.

EXCERPT:
It was obvious Margaret hadn’t told her he was coming.
“Your mother invited me.”
“She what? Why would she do that?”
Cat looked beautiful even if she was angry. Her eyes
sparkled, and her skin flushed.
“You wouldn’t answer or return my calls. I called your
mother, and before I knew it she invited me for dinner.” He reached to touch
her. To feel her again.
“I didn’t say anything other than I was trying to reach you,
and you weren’t getting back to me.” He stared into chestnut eyes. “We need to
talk.”
The door flew open. “Josef,” Margaret exclaimed. “You made
it. Come on in. Catherine, let him in.”
“I didn’t know he was the surprise guest this evening,
Mother.”

DeleteI love the excerpts! The characters just keep getting built up bigger and bigger! :) What gave you the idea for the names of your characters?
ReplyDeleteandralynn7 AT gmail DOT com
Andra, thank you for commenting and visiting today. Cat, is short for Catherine and Cat came to me before her full name. Josef is actually a name in my family, but last names come from a list I've built. I go through the list and the name has to fit the character and story as well as flow right with the first name.
DeleteIt's been a fun tour, I'm looking forward to reading the book.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lizbeth, for visiting and commenting on several posts. Good luck.
DeleteSince I'm also a Catherine, I love when I share a name with the heroine. And the fact that she is a vet and animal lover makes her all the more appealing to me.
