Blurb:

In her Loveswept debut, Sidney Halston turns up the heat as a sexy cage fighter shows a former bookworm how delicious a few rounds between the sheets can be.

For Chrissy Martin, returning to her Florida hometown always seems to bring bad luck. The day starts with a breakup text, followed by a jailhouse phone call from her troublemaker brother. Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer . . . in a delicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.
Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.

Let's Learn A Little About Sidney Halston:

What is your writing environment?
STARBUCKS! I go to the same Starbucks every night and sit on the same comfy couch. Once in a while, I’ll get there to find someone’s sitting on MY seat and then my mojo deflates. I give the person an evil eye and a pout before heading back home. It’s become this ‘thing’ that I can’t write anywhere else. It’s terrible for my back and wrists, absolutely not ergonomically correct, but just perfect for writing. I love that the baristas all know I drink a tall skinny vanilla latte and start preparing it while I boot up my laptop. I sip my drink while listening to Pandora (Chris Cornell or Led Zeppelin) and my hair permanently smells like coffee. I love it.

Who is your perfect hero/heroine? Why?
I love an alpha male that isn’t a jerk.  I hate unapologetic domineering heroes who do jerkish things. Tate from Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley (or any of the men of the Colorado Mountain Series) are the perfect heroes, in my opinion. I like strong heroines that have their own opinions and don’t put up with the alpha jerk. I know, seems like a conundrum—an alpha male and a woman that doesn’t put up with it. Once again, Kristen Ashley has some great heroines, like Nina from The Gamble.

Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why?
I read a lot!  There is never a day I don’t read at least 2 chapters of a book that isn’t mine. Recently, I fell in love with Jessica Clare’s Hit Man series. That has been my recent addiction. Before that, I was in a Toni Aleo stupor. I love her Assassin’s series. (Okay, Hit Man series and Assassins series. Hee hee Looks like a trend doesn’t it? Assassin’s is the name of a Hockey team, just in case you haven’t read it. But the Hit Man series is, well, about Hit Men. Hee hee) Both series I loved. Oh, and I love the Hard Ink series by Laura Kaye. I just ‘one clicked’ on The Will by Kristen Ashley (she’s my favorite!!). I’m going to stop now because I can do this all day….

What type of book have you always wanted to write?
I wish I could write a super heart wrenching angtsy love story, like Molly McAdam’s Taking Chances, but I can’t. I’ve tried but it ends up funny and I can’t bring myself to hurt my characters.

Top 3 things on your bucket list:
See one of my books in a bookstore somewhere.
Visit Greece
Move to Colorado
Become a full-time writer (That was 4 not 3, wasn’t it? Oops)

How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
My husband is a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. I love the camaraderie between all the guys at his Academy. The idea stemmed from watching him fight. Like Chrissy, I’m a mess. My purse always has a 1000 things and I can never find anything. My husband made a comment that if I get stopped by a police officer I’d never find my driver’s license. This triggered the 1st chapter of Against the Cage and it all came flowing out from there.

What is your favorite scene in your newest release?
My favorite scene is the first chapter of the book, when Jack and Chrissy see each other again for the first time. I also love the scene in the hospital between Jack and Slade. I really enjoyed the interaction between the men. At the core, the books are romance novels, but I want to keep the banter between the sub-characters in the forefront throughout the series.

What is the last movie you watched and loved?
The last movie I watched was American Hustle. I loved it. Amy Adams and Christian Bale were fabulous!

What would you consider a “perfect date”?
Dinner and dancing. I’d even take, just a night out dancing without dinner first.

What are you currently working on?
I just finished Full Contact (Worth the Fight #2), which is Slade’s book. It’s a lot spicier---a lot! And, Slade is more domineering. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Author Info:
Sidney Halston lives her life by one simple rule: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started” (Mark Twain). Or even simpler: “Just do it” (Nike). And that’s exactly what she did. At the age of thirty, having never written anything other than a legal brief, she picked up a pen for the first time to pursue her dream of becoming an author. That first stroke sealed the deal, and she fell in love with writing. Halston lives in South Florida with her husband and children.
